Beneficial Insects: Now in Stock
We now have Lady Beetles, Mantids, Nematodes and Lacewings, ready to protect your spring garden!
We have just received our first shipment of beneficial insects for the garden. We have Lady Beetles, Praying Mantids, Beneficial Nematodes and Lacewing Larvae.
Lady Beetles and Lacewings are voracious consumers of soft bodied insects like Aphids, some Mites, and Thrips. If they are placed in the garden at night, they can naturalize in your yard and have an extended impact on your garden pests. Lacewing larvae are frequently used by large scale landscape interests, and vinyards to organically control target insects.
Praying mantis will frequently spend the whole season in one general area, and will control a broad array of insects, including moths, grasshoppers, katydids, and beetles.
Beneficial Nematodes have proven to be very effective at controlling and eliminating lawn grubs and cat flea larvae in lawn areas. They are easy to apply, and can easily last all season or longer. It is very important to keep the nematodes refrigerated right up to the time of use. They are applied with a watering can or bucked right on the lawn, and watered in immediately.
Come in and see us if we can answer any questions about the use of beneficial insects in your garden.
Finally, we also have a great new worm supplier. 1/2 Lb. of red worms can aerate your soil, improve your drainage, compost your organic matter, and as a bonus, they add great fertilizer to the garden!
