Apricot Candy is this years winner of the 2008 Rose Hills International Rose Trials in Whittier, CA.
The delicate rose fragrance adds to the classic elegance of this new soft apricot Hybrid Tea. Excellent flower shape and a novel, easy-on-the-eye color that is nevertheless strong enough to withstand the heat without fading. The ruffle-edged petals contrast nicely with the soft green foliage, either on the plant or in the vase. A good performer on both coasts with above average resistance to diseases.

As with all the Drift Roses, Apricot Drift has excellent disease resistance and winter hardiness.

Darcey Bussell is one of the best and most healthy red roses 'we have bred to date' according to David Austin. Its beautiful flowers are produced freely and with excellent continuity. When young, their outer petals form a perfect ring around an inner cup; gradually opening out to form a perfect rosette. The colour is a deep rich crimson that takes on a tinge of mauve just before the petals drop. It has a pleasing, fruity fragrance with hints of green notes.
This rose, with its short, bushy growth, is an excellent shrub for the front of the border or for planting in formal rose beds. It will make an excellent plant for a large pot. One of the best climbers to come out of our testing grounds of Pennsylvania. Extremely underrated on the West Coast so far. - maybe because its great disease resistance and winter hardiness features are less appreciated.
